Local progress

While you take a test, its answers and progress are stored on your device using browser storage so you can continue after a refresh. Saved progress expires after 90 days and is cleared when that test is opened again. You can clear it sooner through your browser settings or the test's “Start over” action.

Anonymous completed-test data

When you finish a test, 16Traits may receive an anonymous response record containing the test type and scoring version, question IDs and selected answer IDs, start and completion times, a random per-attempt ID, and result metrics calculated from those answers. We use this dataset to measure completion, spot confusing or weak questions, compare item behavior, and improve future versions of the tests.

The response record does not include your name, email address, account ID, advertising ID, or a cross-attempt identifier. We keep raw response records for up to 24 months and may keep aggregate statistics that no longer identify an individual attempt for longer.

Anonymous site analytics

On ordinary pages such as the home page, catalog, and blog, we may use Google Analytics to count visits and understand how people move through the site. Advertising storage, ad personalization, and Google Signals are disabled. Google Analytics receives page paths and basic usage events, but not individual answer choices or calculated result details. Query strings are removed from page-view events.

We honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. You can also turn future anonymous analytics and completed-test collection off for this browser below. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking on 16Traits.

Sharing a result

Sharing is optional. A result link contains only the personality type and displayed match percentage; it does not contain your answers or identity. Anyone with that link can view the snapshot. A result image stays on your device unless you choose to share it elsewhere.

Service providers and disclosures

Our hosting provider processes ordinary server logs, including network information, needed to deliver and secure the site. Google Analytics provides the limited analytics described above. Neon stores the anonymous response dataset. We do not sell personal information, run targeted advertising, or use quiz answers to build an advertising profile. We may disclose information if required by law or necessary to protect the site and its users.

Your choices

You can clear local test data in your browser, use the control above, or enable a browser privacy signal. An anonymous response cannot normally be matched back to you after submission because we do not store an account or cross-attempt identifier with it; opting out prevents future uploads from this browser. Children and policy changes

16Traits is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. We may update this policy as the site changes. The date above will show the latest revision.
